Provide services and support as a Senior Executive Coach [Professional & Executive Leadership Coaching Services] in the Energy & Scientific Research Industry Sector focussing on Human Capital Solutions for clients such as Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) | Princeton University under Princeton’s Prime Contract No. DE-AC02-09CH11466 with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Generally Located In CONUS/Remote: Princeton, New Jersey, USA and across the Northeastern United States (Mid-Atlantic) Region (Of Country/World).
Leadership Development / Executive Coaching helps leading organizations Champion strategic transformation and elite leadership growth through tailored, high-impact coaching for senior leaders.
Responsibilities and Duties
Lead executive coaching engagements ; develop strategic thinking, influence, and decision-making capabilities; conduct assessments and performance reviews; build high-trust relationships.
Identify key stakeholders to provide input on the client’s leadership skills and challenges via confidential one-on-one interviews; probe to learn how success will be measured and what stakeholders see as top priorities.
Define goals, expectations, and outcomes of the coaching engagement; build the client’s vision by assessing the team, identifying strengths and development areas; set SMART objectives; collaborate to determine areas for improvement.
Prepare and support dissemination of the client’s development plan to appropriate staff to improve leadership impact in support of PPPL’s mission and vision.
Develop strategies to ensure deliberate practice and performance improvement, focusing on decision-making, strategic thinking, and influencing others.
Provide structured space for strategic thinking and holistic assessment of situations; help leaders prioritize what truly matters.
Develop decision-making frameworks and core value alignment to guide complex decisions under pressure.
Foster trust through open communication and empathetic leadership; build strong relationships with direct reports and stakeholders.
Identify challenges or opportunities and create action plans; guide implementation and provide constructive feedback.
Leverage strengths and address weaknesses to enhance overall effectiveness.
Measure and report results at executive level including competency in leadership, business results, influence, visibility, credibility, and stakeholder navigation.
Ensure coaching outcomes align with PPPL’s mission; support development plans with data and input from stakeholders.
Location: Northeastern United States (Mid-Atlantic) Region; initially at 100 Stellarator Road, Princeton, NJ 08543; remote options available.
Qualifications
Minimum 10+ years in executive coaching; advanced certification (ICF-PCC or MCC preferred); DOE/National Lab environment experience preferred .
Education:
Master’s degree in Organizational Development, HR, Psychology, or related field; extensive leadership development experience.
Experience aligning with Energy & Scientific Research Sector functional and technical requirements; support for Professional & Executive Leadership Coaching Services.
Skills: strategic thinking, executive presence, advanced coaching methodologies, feedback facilitation, stakeholder communication.
Ancillary: experience coaching across diverse, high-security environments; proficient with psychometric tools; comfortable with virtual and in-person sessions.
Other Details
Engages C-suite and director-level talent; supports organizational culture transformation and succession planning.
One-on-one coaching progress is continuously measured against goals and roadmap using session data.
Coaching will use existing assessments and performance reviews; interviews with key stakeholders; in-person or remote delivery; milestone-based scheduling; unlimited email/ad-hoc calls.
