Position Summary

As a member of the Senior Executive Team, the Provost and VP of Academic Affairs will provide strategic vision, direction, and oversight for all academic programs and initiatives at the university. This position plays a critical role in shaping the educational mission, promoting academic excellence, and fostering a culture of innovation, engagement, and continuous improvement. The Provost/CAO collaborates closely with other senior administrators, faculty members, and staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality, relevant, and inclusive educational experiences for students.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategic plans, goals, and objectives aligned with the universitys mission of serving the dear neighbor without distinction. Provide visionary leadership in academic program development, innovation, and student engagement, ensuring curricular quality and alignment with workforce needs. Foster a culture of academic excellence, integrity, and continuous improvement. Oversee the development, review, and evaluation of academic programs and curriculum. Work closely with senior leadership to align academic programs with enrollment growth, missiondriven initiatives, and longterm sustainability. Ensure alignment of academic programs with industry trends, accreditation standards, and student needs. Lead efforts to assess and improve the quality and effectiveness of academic programs. Collaborate with academic deans and department chairs to recruit, hire, and retain highly qualified faculty members. Strengthen faculty professional development, mentoring, and promotion/retention/tenure processes with a strong emphasis on teaching, mentoring, and facultystudent relationships. Promote a culture of faculty scholarship, research, and creative activity. Work closely with student affairs and other departments to advance datadriven strategies that support student success, career readiness, and retention and persistence initiatives. Oversee academic support services, including tutoring, advising, and academic enrichment programs. Ensure compliance with academic and accreditation policies, regulations, and standards. Coordinate accreditation processes and reports, including selfstudies and site visits. Collaborate with institutional research and assessment offices to collect and analyze data for accreditation purposes, to improve student outcomes, enhance operational efficiency, inform strategic planning, drive research, and optimize marketing. Develop and manage the academic affairs budget, ensuring effective use of resources for scholarly endeavors, teaching, and student support in alignment with institutional priorities and goals. Foster collaboration. Inclusivity and communication among academic departments, administrative units, and external stakeholders to encourage transparency in academic decisionmaking. Represent the institution at academic conferences, professional associations, and community events and serve on university committees as needed. Advocate for inclusive pedagogical practices and curriculum development. Demonstrate a proven ability to effectively manage and oversee multiple projects and initiatives concurrently. Spearhead the identification, cultivation, and management of strategic partnerships with external organizations, industry stakeholders, and educational institutions that enhance institutional prestige and longterm sustainability. Effectively communicate the vision, goals, and achievements of academic initiatives to various stakeholders, including faculty, students, administrators, and the broader community. Champion diversity, build an inclusive culture and learning experience, and maintain an equitable learning environment. Performs other jobrelated duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D.) in a relevant field from an accredited institution. Significant experience in academic administration, preferably at the level of department chair or higher. Demonstrated leadership skills and a track record of successful strategic planning and implementation. Knowledge of higher education trends, accreditation standards, and best practices in academic affairs. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in academia. Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities. Budget management experience and financial acumen. Ability to foster a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. Multilingual skills are highly preferred Ability to contribute to a climate that supports a diverse student body, serves firstgeneration college students, multilingual learners, and contributes to equity and social justice through their work.
