The organization provides adoption, rescue and education services by finding suitable lifetime homes for cats, rescuing cats on death row at local shelters, and educating the public on responsible pet ownership. The target is to offer in-house spay and neuter services and support a network of adoption centers and partners. We operate with core values of integrity, compassion for all life, respect for our cats, supporters and each other, and teamwork. Our volunteers and staff are recognized for responsibility, dedication, knowledge and helpful service. We serve cats that would otherwise be euthanized, potential adopters, donors, local animal shelters, and our community. Responsibilities
Foster Fancy Cats Rescue cats in your home for a period of 30 days or longer to provide socialization and a break from cage confinement. Foster new intakes, including young kittens with or without their mother, ill cats, or cats recuperating from surgery. Provide food and litter; the organization covers medically necessary vet visits and treatments. Transport foster cats to and from adoptions for showings, usually about once or twice per month; assist with Adoption Events in the Northern Virginia area on Saturdays and Sundays. Participate in foster program training and seek support from current foster homes when needed. Learn about each cat’s habits and personality to help identify the best forever home. Getting started includes a Home Visit required by state law. Please share any preferences on cats you’d like to foster and complete the foster application described below. Foster application:

Willingness to open your home to a cat/foster for a defined period (typically 30 days or longer). Ability to provide daily care, food, and litter, and to transport to adoptions as needed. Interest in learning about cat behavior and helping cats find their forever homes. Other
