Responsibilities

Lead the Operations Branch of Path of Hope Rescue (PHR), overseeing the program dogs from intake to adoption, including Foster, Adoptions, Admissions, Medical, and Transport Packs.

Serve as the right-hand person to the CEO, driving smooth and scalable operations; current emphasis is 90% hands-on logistics and 10% strategic development, with growth toward more leadership and SOPs.

Manage Admissions by building and maintaining relationships with Texas shelter partners, identifying dogs at risk of euthanasia, and coordinating transport with partners to move dogs into Washington state, ensuring compliance with state laws.

Develop a foster plan with backups since there is no kennel or building; coordinate transport arrivals with the Intake team and immediate transfer to Foster Families.

Supervise the Medical Pack while dogs are in foster care to ensure preventative care, screening, and spay/neuter surgeries are completed.

Oversee the Adoption program, including Matchmakers and Assistants; ensure high standards in the adoption process and coordination of long-distance transport to adopters (Puppy Delivery Express).

Work from home with remote days focused on computer work, team leadership, and coordinating with volunteers; some in-person duties (transports, surgeries, events), including evenings and weekends as needed.

Collaborate with Marketing to advertise current and upcoming dogs accurately.

Backfill open volunteer roles when needed; lead multiple roles and contribute to building SOPs, curricula, and long-term foundational documents for the Rescue as the Branch expands.

Engage in ongoing process improvement and continuing education; stay informed with new information and best practices.

1-2 Texas Transports / Intakes per month

All dogs placed in appropriate foster homes with no double placements; foster team building and community

Medical Team supported with inventory ready for emergencies

Vaccines, heartworm prevention, and dewormer up to date

Spay/Neuter surgeries scheduled and planned in advance

Daily engagement with volunteers (Mon-Fri) remotely; one proactive day per week for on-site visits

Strong remote work ethic

Mandatory attendance at all events, intakes, and transports (some evenings/weekends); office hours may be adjusted

10-15 adoptions per month

Soft Skills

The Operations Branch relies on volunteer leadership; ability to motivate and manage volunteers is essential.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication; strong conflict resolution skills.

Emotional discipline and decisive decision-making aligned with principles.

Hard Skills

Logistics and communication; comfort with multiple moving parts and problem solving; critical thinking.

Proficiency with technology and multiple platforms/CRMs; accurate data and record-keeping are priorities.
