The candidate will serve as a senior hydrogeologist developing public-facing web content and providing technical guidance on groundwater systems across Hawaii and the US Affiliated Pacific Islands (USAPI). Mentor junior staff in Pacific island hydrogeology principles and fundamental science practices (FSP), including training on Hawaiian volcanic aquifer systems and USAPI atoll environments while developing technical competencies in web content development. Coordinate with Center staff to review data releases, scientific reports, and groundwater studies for FSP compliance; present findings at scientific conferences and develop standardized regional procedures incorporating FSP; ensure technical reviews adhere to fundamental science practices standards. Develop and maintain public-facing web content for Hawaiian volcanic aquifers and USAPI island systems, creating interactive resources on freshwater lens dynamics. Address water security challenges in island environments where freshwater exists as thin lenses over saltwater in permeable coral and volcanic aquifers. Understands Drupel and develops/maintains web-based content. Qualifications
Minimum of 30 years of experience in Geology/Hydrology OR MA/MS Degree in Geology/Hydrology OR Previously completed training in FSP and Web-tools Drupel Training Experience with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook Other information
