Our PROMISE Framework (Price, Roadmap, Options, Mission, Issues, Settlement, Expectations) keeps clients informed and supported through divorces, custody, support, and domestic violence matters. Role Overview: Lead complex family law matters as first chair from intake to resolution. Combine trial excellence with settlement savvy, mentor a growing team, and deliver client clarity with our PROMISE Framework. Responsibilities
First-chair contested hearings and trials; craft and execute litigation strategy Lead negotiations/mediations; propose practical settlement pathways (MSAs, consent orders) Supervise associates/juniors/paralegals; review work product and provide coaching Conduct/defend depositions; prepare clients, witnesses, and experts Draft persuasive pleadings, motions, discovery plans, and proposed orders Maintain organized, compliant files; meet quality, productivity, and client-satisfaction goals Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings when needed Represent clients in court proceedings as needed Ensure that every client's expectations are properly set, and met; strive for client happiness Qualifications
Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations Must be licensed to practice law in the State of MD
(strong consideration for licensure in DC and VA) Prior experience representing clients in hearings, trials, and mediation is required Persuasive writing skills and verbal communication skills; ability to manage support staff and interpersonal relationships Strong legal research skills Compensation
Compensation: $170,000 - $225,000 DOE
