Overview

Research Scientist – Atmospheric Trace Gases at Scripps Institution of Oceanography (UCSD). Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) invites applications for a full-time Research Scientist position to assume a major scientific role in the central experimental laboratory of the Advanced Global Atmospheric Gases Experiment (AGAGE). The project is an international collaboration sponsored in the US by NASA and funded by extramural grants and SIO during the academic year and summer. Responsibilities

Conduct and interpret experimental measurements of trace gases in the global and regional atmosphere, with emphasis on substances related to anthropogenic climate change and stratospheric ozone depletion as emphasized in AGAGE. Contribute to the central laboratory activities of AGAGE and participate in the management of a funded research program. Demonstrate excellence in research and service toward building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment. Potentially obtain lecturer appointments in the SIO Department and serve as a graduate student advisor. Qualifications

PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant field at the time of application. Competitive publication record and evidence of the ability to conduct and fund an active research program aligned with career level. Appointment may be at the Associate or Full Research Scientist level; salary based on UCSD pay scales and experience. Additional Details
