Position Summary

To bring value by assuring that domestic and international transportation, indirect procurement, and customer services needs of the organization are efficiently managed. Administer programs, procedures, and processes in order to provide an economic and service conscience for the organization and its customers.

Required Experience:

· Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.

· Strong analytical skills with a data led solution-based mindset.

· Strong administrative, organizational and decision-making traits which will enable employee to determine appropriate priorities and to remain effective under multi-problem and emergency situations.

· Deep knowledge of freight industry across all modes and the ability to analyze and optimize a logistics network

· Ability to interface with other departments, carriers and customers

· The ability to negotiate and effectively administer transportation programs

· Working knowledge of office software applications. This includes TMS and 3rd party billing

· Considerable supervisory and planning skills for the maintenance of high morale and productivity.

· Excellent follow through for ensuring project completion within the required time frame. The ability to establish goals while developing new and better ideas.

Education:

Minimum Education - Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Experience:

7 - 10 years of experience in customer service, logistics, and supervision or related position.

Preferred Experience:

Exposure to direct sales and similar customer contacts.

Duties & Responsibilities

Formulates Logistics plans and manages the strategic focus of Mactac's Corporate Logistics Program and team including but not limited to overall structure, strategic partnerships, continuous improvement initiatives, network optimization, and service.

Manages all aspects of the Corporate Logistics function, to include the following. (1) negotiating carrier relationships, rates and contracts, (2) managing intercompany freight and its optimizations, (3) managing third party warehouses, (4) trade and tariff compliance, brokerages

Developing and managing freight analytics for a data-based approach to carrier selection, spend, and decision making.

Responsible for developing Logistics strategy in support of business objectives, which includes issuing RFP/RFQ for Truckload, LTL, Air, Parcel and Intermodal, and the negotiation of carrier rates

Develops and maintains corporate routing guides and is responsible for costing and routing of inbound and outbound shipments where MACtac bears the cost of transportation

Works with Carriers, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales Reps and Customers in matters relating to order clarification, shipping delays, quality problems, returns and claims, and freight optimization.

Tracks and monitors the key performance indicators of Logistics, including truck weights, intermodal shipments, pool shipments, fast freight, third party warehousing

Monitors carrier performance and conducts regular performance reviews with carriers

Responsible for strict Corporate Trade Compliance (USMCA, Certificates of Origins, SLI, Commercial Invoices) and maintains appropriate records

Network collaboration with all Production Facilities and Satellite Distribution Centers to provide training in the economics of carrier and route selection for distribution centers and manufacturing location employees.

Manage, benchmark, and develop strategies to reduce warehousing cost and indirect material cost

Physical Requirements:

A large percentage of working hours are spent in an office environment with occasional visits to operating plants or warehouses. Trips are also made, as required, to customer, carrier facilities and plant locations.
