Maintenance Technician
Shift: 3rd shift, 10:50pm-7:00am
Pay: $28/hour + 10% shift premium + $30.80
Location: Rockford, MI
Job Description:
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, modifying, and repairing a wide variety of injection molding and assembly machines along with other automated equipment. Must also be able to perform building maintenance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Work with blueprints, schematics, SOP’s and machine manuals.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a variety of molding and automated machinery using available technology.
Operate drill press, grinder, welding, and other maintenance equipment to fabricate or repair parts.
Ability to troubleshoot/diagnose Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) ( but not required).
Working knowledge of programming of PLCs a plus) ( but not required).
Perform troubleshooting on mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and powered, electronically controlled robotic systems.
Ability to use precision measuring equipment and electrical testing instruments associated with a manufacturing setting.
Perform routine preventative maintenance functions per schedule.
Ability to maintain computer-based machine repair and PM records system.
Comply with OSHA and all safety practices in repair and installation.
Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum two-year degree in Electromechanical Technology or equivalent work experience and training
College or equivalent education including specialty certification for Hydraulics, pneumatics, and (or) electrical (required)
At least 7 years' technical experience with plastic injection molding , along with hands-on experience with raw materials, mold set-up, and troubleshooting skills for electric injection machines and auxiliary equipment
Effective communicator, both written and verbal (English); good visual skills and reasoning ability
Ability to maintain accurate records
Ability to lift 55 lbs.
Above basic math skills and reasoning ability
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform preventive maintenance functions
Availability to work overtime and weekends as needed
Ability to convert customer specifications to value added solutions
Skills/Knowledge:
Knowledge of the seating and automotive industry is
Understanding of plastic injection molding, tooling and assembly process
80/20 mindset and understanding
Qualified candidate will possess good work ethic, is reliable, self-directed, and dedicated to quality.
Must enjoy a fast-paced environment
Basic computer skills
