Junior HVAC Technician

to join our team at

Fort Knox

to support HVAC maintenance and repair operations across military facilities. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to grow in the HVAC industry while working in a highly regulated and mission-critical environment.

Job Responsibilities:

Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Perform routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and diagnostics on commercial HVAC equipment.

Support senior technicians with troubleshooting and repairing HVAC system components such as compressors, motors, fans, thermostats, and control systems.

Monitor HVAC system performance and report issues to the lead technician or supervisor.

Work with refrigerant handling following EPA regulations and safety guidelines.

Maintain accurate service logs, equipment records, and work order documentation.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and military-specific safety protocols.

Work within a team to meet scheduled maintenance deadlines and respond to urgent HVAC service calls as required.

Assist in maintaining an inventory of tools, parts, and HVAC supplies.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors to support the Fort Knox HVAC program.

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or GED required. HVAC trade school certification .

Experience:

1-2 years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, or repair (commercial or military facility experience ).

Certifications:

EPA Section 608 Certification (Type I or II required; Universal ).

Skills:

Basic understanding of HVAC systems, troubleshooting techniques, and tools.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn from senior technicians.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environments, including extreme temperatures.

Must be able to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.

Security Clearance:

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain base access at Fort Knox. Background check required.
