The TCIA (Tax Credits & Incentives Advisory) Practice is comprised of a diverse group of CPAs and tax law experts with numerous years of experience, who help clients with expert tax planning. The group offers unparalleled knowledge and service in the area of tax credits and accounting methods and helps companies identify and realize value-added opportunities. As a Manager, you will help develop the vision, strategies, and action plans to grow Cherry Bekaert’s TCIA Practice and manage internal resources and work on IRC Section 41 Research credit engagements. Note:
The ideal candidate would have familiarity with Identifying Qualified Research Expenses in a variety of industries. Calculating the IRC Section 41 Research Credit. Understanding the Controlled Group rules in the research credit calculation. Speaking to tax managers and tax VPs with respect to the research credit rules. Speaking to technical company personnel with respect to technical uncertainties associated with their research. Leading and working with both local and national TCIA team members. Documenting the technical uncertainties and processes of experimentation associated with new or improved products, processes, or software designs. Delegating work effectively and also working directly on projects. Acting as a mentor to Staff and Senior Associates. Additionally, as part of this role, you will work closely with other members of our TCIA group as we continue to grow our practice in the following areas: Accounting Methods Cost Segregation Energy Credits Energy Efficiency Deductions State Credits and Incentives Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, engineering, technology, or related field. Advanced degree or certification, such as CPA, MST, MAcc, LLM or JD is required. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in federal tax compliance or tax consulting services. Experience working in Excel with Pivot tables and VLOOKUPs. Desire to participate in strategic planning initiatives. Strong project management and organizational skills. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in accounting methods including uniform capitalization rules; tangible property regulations; capitalization and depreciation; unit of property reviews; cost segregation studies; revenue recognition; and advanced payments, and experience preparing or reviewing Form 3115.
