Commercial Roofing Estimator

Full-Time Salary:
$70,000–$90,000 per year + profit sharing
About the Role:
A well-established commercial contractor in Texas is looking for a
Senior Estimator
to join their Dallas-based team. This is a hands-on, client-facing role where your experience and technical expertise will be valued every step of the way.
You'll take ownership of the full estimating process—from field assessments to scope definition, pricing, proposals, and client meetings. Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the main point of contact for estimating commercial roofing projects
Lead and produce detailed estimates using onscreen takeoffs and field inspections
Write and present proposals, participate in scope reviews and negotiations
Collaborate with clients, architects, consultants, and internal teams throughout the preconstruction process
Mentor junior estimators (PE-I level) and assist them with bid preparation
Conduct independent field inspections and site evaluations
Run hand-off meetings with the operations team
Participate in client education and lead pre-bid or proposal meetings
Stay involved in industry associations and represent the company on relevant committees
What You Bring:
Four-year degree OR minimum of 5 years of construction experience with at least 2 years in estimating
Strong understanding of new construction and remedial work including codes, wind uplift, moisture control, and roofing materials
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Able to read and interpret architectural drawings, specs, and construction documents
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable managing 3–5 estimates per week
Excellent time management, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Valid driver's license
Must be able to work legally in the United States
Physically able to climb ladders, scaffolding, stairs, and access job sites
