We are seeking a
detail-oriented and experienced
Production Routing Plann e rto join our team. The ideal candidate
should have strong knowledge and will be responsible for
building and maintaining routing (routers) for the shop floor ,
interpreting customer drawings and specifications, and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
It is crucial to note
- the routing process determines the sequence of operations required to transform raw materials into finished products per the customer engineer drawing. It involves a detailed plan that outlines the steps, machines, tools, and materials needed as well as the time required to each operation per estimator quote. Thus, this role involves extensive collaborating with various departments, such as production floor operators, quality, procurement, estimating, and customers to route jobs accordingly.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain accurate production routers for the shop floor, defining the sequence of operations, required work centers, estimated time standards, and materials.
Interpret and analyze customer specific instructions, blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine manufacturing requirements and route accordingly.
Identify potential problems or questions regarding prints and/or purchase order and coordinate with buyer/engineer.
Communicate production floor needs, questions, and changes to customer.
Maintain and update routing in ERP (Global Shop Solutions) system with accurate planning and routing data to be in accordance with industry and company standards.
Work in close relation to quality department to ensure all processes are in compliance to industry and company standards.
Analyze historical order data from customers to anticipate demand and requirements needed for production.
Verify and ensure all documentation by the customer is up-to-date and provided in production floor package.
Monitor inventory levels of work-in-progress and finished goods to prevent stockouts or excess inventory.
Requirements:
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with building routers or routings for manufacturing operations.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting customer blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, assembly, fabrication, and inspection.
Familiarity with industry specifications and ability to interpret customer-specific technical requirements.
Experience with ERP systems and production scheduling tools.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Highly detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Fundamental mathematical skills including ratios, unit conversions and probability.
Qualifications:
Experience with Global Shop Solutions ERP system.
Minimum 1 year experience in routing jobs for shop floor.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES AND EDUCATION
· Valid driver’s license.
· High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The Planner will spend most his/her time working in an office environment. They must be able to work at a computer for several hours at a time. When entering shop areas, all personnel must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses.

Authorized to work in the United States.
