The Department of Oncology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University is seeking a passionate and experienced leader for the role of Director of Cancer Risk and Genetics. This is a significant opportunity in a vibrant academic and clinical setting focused on evolving precision medicine and hereditary cancer risk assessment.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to integrating genetic risk evaluations within oncology care, along with a robust academic background and a proven record in team leadership, clinical innovation, and translational research.
Responsibilities:
Provide visionary leadership for the Cancer Risk and Genetics Program, ensuring alignment with the department's mission to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered cancer care.
Oversee and enhance clinical services related to hereditary cancer syndromes, including genetic counseling and risk reduction strategies.
Collaborate closely with Jefferson’s Cancer Center, genetic counselors, surgical oncology, and various clinical specialties.
Lead and support faculty development, academic scholarship, and clinical research in the fields of cancer genetics and risk assessment.
Engage in educating medical students, residents, and fellows.
Drive program growth by initiating new clinical initiatives and pursuing grant funding.
Qualifications:
MD or DO degree; board certified in Medical Oncology, Clinical Genetics, or a related specialty.
Eligibility for medical licensure in Pennsylvania.
A strong foundation in hereditary cancer risk, clinical genetics, or precision oncology.
Preferred experience in academic leadership or program development.
Evidence of scholarly activity, teaching accomplishments, and clinical innovation.
