About the Role
The organization is on the lookout for a dynamic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to steer its Foundation, which is integral in furthering the cultural and educational missions of the Museum of New Mexico system. The ideal candidate will embody transformative leadership, bring a visionary mindset, and possess outstanding relationship-building abilities. A successful background in fundraising, especially in securing significant contributions and leading capital campaigns, is essential.
The incumbent will have a profound appreciation for cultural heritage, with experience engaging diverse communities, including Indigenous, Hispanic, and rural populations. Key responsibilities include strategic direction, the formulation and implementation of effective fundraising strategies, and the assurance of the Foundation's financial and operational sustainability.
Collaboration with the Board of Trustees, staff, and external partners will be crucial to drive the mission and objectives stipulated in the Foundation's strategic plan.
Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree and have a minimum of 15 years of leadership experience in nonprofit management, with a strong emphasis on fundraising and financial oversight. A comprehensive understanding of nonprofit finance, a commitment to data-driven decision-making, and a passion for fostering a culture of improvement and professional development within the team are required.
Experience with public-private partnerships and advocacy, particularly involving state governments, is vital. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, willing to take calculated risks, and adept at driving innovation to enhance the Foundation's impact. They should also excel in managing a diverse team, providing mentorship, and ensuring transparency and professionalism across all operational facets.
