General summary:

The Senior Enterprise Architect is responsible for the technical governance and delivery of enterprise systems with a primary focus on Oracle NetSuite ERP and its related modules (CPQ, CRM, WMS, et al). Responsibilities guiding requirements gathering, improving the current IT architecture, optimizing business operations, and setting the direction and approach for integrating information applications and programs. This is a hands-on position with high professional growth potential, and influence over an ERP transformation.

The architect will understand how people, processes, and technology interact in both current and future states and model these interactions to guide strategy in alignment with company goals. The role includes establishing and maintaining enterprise architecture governance standards, creating and maintaining the enterprise architecture roadmap, and ensuring successful integration of NetSuite with external systems through EDI/XML, partner APIs, and integration tools.

Essential Job Functions:

Define and maintain the enterprise architecture model centered on NetSuite ERP and supporting modules.

Guide and support requirements gathering activities, aligning business needs with NetSuite’s out-of-the-box capabilities and controlled extensions.

Oversee integration design with external vendors and customers (EDI/XML, integration platform, partner APIs, and custom solutions).

Establish and maintain enterprise architecture governance standards to ensure scalability, security, and alignment across IT initiatives.

Serve as senior advisor to IT and business leadership on ERP, integrations, and roadmap decisions.

Partner with project managers, analysts, and developers to ensure alignment of solutions to the roadmap.

Support change management for ERP adoption.

Suggest ideas to reduce costs and improve efficiency in ERP and integration projects.

Lead requirements alignment and architectural decision-making for NetSuite ERP.

Maintain knowledge of modern ERP and integration technologies and trends.

Provide oversight on high-level solution design, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with NetSuite and enterprise goals.

Mentor team members, offering guidance on best practices and integration approaches.

Develop proofs-of-concept and prototypes to illustrate solutions for ERP, integrations, and business problems.

Anticipate bottlenecks, manage escalations, and balance business needs with technical constraints.

Partner with business users and support teams on new tools and systems until they take on ownership.

Supportive Job Functins: *

Prepare reports and presentations for executives and stakeholders.

Provide proactive relationship building and end-user support across multiple business units.

Requirements:

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Demonstrated competence in:

Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with executives, business leaders, and technical resources.

Proven expertise with NetSuite ERP (or equivalent Tier 1/Tier 2 ERP), with a preference for NetSuite-specific experience.

Strong knowledge of integration standards and tools: EDI/XML, integration platforms, custom EAI solutions, APIs.

Ability to translate and align business strategy into technology strategy and enterprise architecture.

Experience in developing and enforcing enterprise governance standards.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, able to break down complex business and technical problems.

Skilled in creating architectural roadmaps and ensuring IT investments align with business objectives.

Familiarity with governance frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, or comparable).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present to executives and non-technical audiences.

Experience modeling as-is and to-be architectures and creating sequence diagrams and system designs.

Experience modeling as-is and to-be architectures based on business requirements.

Experience delivering executive-ready communications and presenting ideas to leadership.

Strong background in ERP-related integration programs.

Ability to mentor and influence teams while maintaining cost-conscious architectural decisions.

Education and experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related discipline.

5+ years of overall IT experience, with emphasis on ERP/Enterprise Architecture.

2–3 years of NetSuite experience strongly (or equivalent ERP + integration expertise).
