DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform cleaning duties throughout the facility. You will complete general cleaning duties such as mopping, scrubbing, waxing, polishing, dusting, sweeping, and buffing. You will also deep clean rest rooms, resident rooms, common areas, offices, and public areas. This role requires understanding standard policies and procedures of the Housekeeping Department and ensuring completed work follows departmental rules, regulations, and guidelines. In addition, you will move and lift heavy furniture, assist with snow removal, pick up and deliver supplies, and dispose trash, recyclable materials, and infectious waste. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work rotating days and weekends. Telework:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions. Preferred Qualifications (not required): Willingness to work in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania Willingness to work a full-time position Work experience as a custodian, janitor, or cleaning person (Experience might include such things as cleaning restrooms; cleaning resident rooms, offices, or public areas; mopping, scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, and buffing) Work experience working in an assisted living facility, nursing home, or hospital Work experience interacting with patients or residents while cleaning in patient or resident rooms or a dining room setting Work experience with cleaning bodily fluids and disposing infectious waste into proper storage areas Work experience removing snow, trash, and debris from sidewalks and entrance ways Work experience using and mixing chemicals or solvents Work experience using manual or power equipment to mop, scrub, sweep, strip, wax, and buff floors Work experience in the following environments: activity or recreation room; bathroom, shower, or bathing room; cafeteria or dining room setting; entranceway, lobby, or common space; nursing station; patient or resident rooms; pharmacy; physical therapy rooms Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
