We're seeking an entrepreneurial scientific leader who combines intellectual rigor with practical execution skills to advance our antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) pipeline at GondolaBio. You will serve as a scientific lead for multiple preclinical ASO programs in collaboration with the n-Lorem foundation. You will design, execute, and interpret experiments, shape research strategy, and mentor junior scientists within a growing, interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities
Serve as a subject matter expert for ASO discovery, design, and preclinical evaluation across multiple programs Lead the design and execution of in vitro studies across multiple preclinical programs using the ASO modality Develop and optimize functional assays and disease models (e.g., iPSC-derived and patient primary cell-derived) to support target engagement and efficacy assessments Perform and interpret molecular, protein, and functional analyses (e.g., qPCR, Western blot), integrating findings with in vivo and translational data Design and interpret in vivo efficacy, safety, and target engagement experiments for ASOs in multiple indications Supervise and mentor junior scientists, fostering a high-performing and collaborative research environment Oversee external research activities, including CRO and academic collaborations, ensuring high-quality and timely data delivery Stay abreast of emerging science, engage with external experts, and represent the company at scientific meetings Communicate results and strategic insights to senior leadership; contribute to publications and IP Partner with leadership to shape and execute a cohesive research strategy that advances program objectives across discovery and translational stages Education, Experience, & Skills
PhD in chemistry, biology, or a related field with 4+ years of industry experience; strong publication record is a plus Modality expertise in ASOs and experience with preclinical discovery, design, and testing of ASO efficacy and safety Experience with in vitro and in vivo disease models across multiple therapeutic areas (neuroscience and renal experience is a plus) Proficiency in preclinical ASO experiments, including qPCR, Western blot, iPSC and patient primary cell culture Sound knowledge of disciplines involved in drug discovery (cell-based disease models, target engagement and target modulation assays, cell viability assays, biomarker discovery, PD/PK, and efficacy studies) and experience with plate-based cellular and biochemical assays Demonstrated ability to manage projects and lead junior team members Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills Experience in biotech or pharmaceutical R&D preferred No matter your role at GondolaBio, successful team members are

The base pay range for this position is $190,000 to $205,000 per year. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on a number of job-related factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, and location. A bonus plan and equity will also be offered. Seniority level
