Overview


von Trapp Family Lodge & Resort in Stowe, Vermont is seeking a detail-oriented and approachable Human Resources Assistant to support our team-oriented and guest-focused workplace. This position provides administrative and operational support across recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and employee services.


Key Responsibilities



  • Assist with job postings, applicant tracking, and scheduling interviews

  • Coordinate new hire paperwork and onboarding processes

  • Provide support with benefit enrollments, employee leave, and workers’ compensation documentation

  • Maintain accurate personnel files and assist with payroll data entry

  • Conduct reference checks and pre-employment screenings

  • Help seasonal and international employees with onboarding, visa coordination, and housing logistics

  • Provide friendly, professional support to employees throughout their employment

  • Assist with HR recordkeeping, audits, and compliance reporting

  • Support employee engagement and recognition initiatives


Position Requirements



  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred, or 1–2 years HR/administrative experience

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; HRIS/ADP experience a plus

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management

  • Familiarity with basic HR practices and employment law helpful

Compensation


Hourly Rate: $25.00 – $27.00/hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
