About the Role
We are seeking a visionary Vice President of Preclinical Sciences to spearhead the strategic and operational direction of our preclinical development initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will craft and execute preclinical strategies encompassing toxicology, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK), and bioanalytical sciences to support IND submissions and propel our biologics pipeline focused on neuromuscular and rare diseases. Ideal candidates will hold a PhD, DVM, or PharmD in a related field, paired with a minimum of 15 years of R&D experience in biotech or pharma, particularly in toxicology and preclinical development.
Your responsibilities will include setting the scientific and operational vision for our preclinical sciences team, providing expertise on IND readiness, and representing this function in governance discussions. You'll oversee both GLP and non-GLP toxicology studies, guide DMPK studies, and lead the integration of bioanalysis and biomarker strategies into our nonclinical programs. An extensive background in biologics and a thorough understanding of GLP regulatory standards are crucial, alongside a proven track record in navigating successful regulatory filings. A deep passion for research in rare diseases and a mission-driven approach to science are essential attributes, complemented by your capability to inspire and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
