Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare data team as a Senior Big Data Engineer! We are looking for an innovative and skilled professional to manage the full lifecycle of large-scale data systems designed for healthcare analytics. You will be pivotal in creating and maintaining scalable and secure data pipelines that facilitate crucial decision-making throughout our organization. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement high-performance Big Data solutions that accommodate structured and unstructured data from various sources. Develop and manage batch and real-time data pipelines using leading tools like Kafka, Spark Streaming, and Talend. Create efficient ETL frameworks in Python or Scala for processing large volumes of data. Optimize data models that enhance analytical and operational capabilities related to healthcare claims and utilization. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business partners to turn requirements into high-quality data products. Oversee Hadoop-based infrastructure deployment and maintenance using Cloudera Manager, Ambari, and Zookeeper. Ensure adherence to data quality, security, and compliance protocols through tools like Kerberos, Ranger, and Sentry. Integrate web services and APIs (REST/SOAP) for application and visualization compatibility. Aid in data governance, focusing on metadata management, lineage tracking, and quality assurance initiatives. Qualifications: Required: A minimum of 3 years of relevant Big Data engineering experience. Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for data-related scripting and transformations. Solid understanding of Big Data tools such as Spark, Hive, Impala, Presto, Phoenix, and Hadoop (HDFS, YARN). Experience in building real-time processing systems using Kafka, Storm, or Spark Streaming. Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., HBase, MemSQL) and traditional RDBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server). Experience in ETL design/implementation with tools like Talend or Informatica. Proven ability to monitor and deploy Big Data infrastructure with tools like Ambari and Cloudera Manager. A strong foundation in data warehousing and data governance practices. Preferred: 5+ years of progressive experience in Big Data engineering or analytics. Experience in Health Economics and outcomes Research (HEOR). Prior work in the healthcare industry, particularly with clinical or claims data. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
