About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Institutional Advancement (VPIA) to lead and manage a comprehensive fundraising program with a focus on major and principal gift fundraising. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing aggressive and creative strategies to solicit and acquire funds for the institution. This includes leading the staff in all aspects of advancement, from development to alumni affairs, and ensuring a holistic culture of philanthropy is embraced. The VPIA will also be instrumental in aligning the advancement department's work with the various educational and research departments to maximize philanthropic goals. Candidates for the VPIA position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and at least 15 years' experience in fundraising and alumni affairs, with a proven track record in major gift solicitation. The role requires a leader with strong knowledge of donor research, cultivation, and stewardship, as well as experience in managing diverse professional staff. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, both in writing and speaking, and will have the ability to interact effectively with a range of key constituencies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fundraising software is essential, and the candidate should be goal-oriented, highly motivated, and possess superior interpersonal skills. The VPIA will also be expected to travel as needed and to maintain a high level of professional competence and emotional intelligence.
