An international industrial equipment supplier specializing in machine-tool technology is searching for a Field Service Engineer based out of Pennsylvania to provide technical support to manufacturing customers. The ideal candidate will have an industrial maintenance background, with strong skills in both mechanical and electronic systems, and will be able to travel to provide field service support up to 90% of the time. This role is full-time and direct hire with a full benefits package (health/vision/dental insurances, life and disability insurances, paid holidays, day-1 PTO, 401k with company matching, and company profit-sharing after one year), and requires up to 90% domestic travel Monday through Friday, along with occasional international travel. Compensation ranges from $32 - 34/hr, dependent on level of experience, with a guaranteed pay rate of at least 40 hours per week. A per diem is provided for overnight stays, as well as a mileage pay reimbursement. Overtime is paid and may be required depending on project needs. This position requires booking your own travel (with company reimbursement) and use of your own vehicle and tools. Field Service Engineer Responsibilities: Travel to customer locations to install new machine tools (fiber laser and punch press machines), identify any mechanical problems with industrial machinery and perform on-site repairs as needed (including turret realignment, bearing and ball screw replacement, and hydraulic and pneumatic system troubleshooting) Offer troubleshooting and technical support for machine tool equipment and CNC machinery Read mechanical drawings and blueprints to resolve issues and complete repairs Document and report any issues Cross-train on mechanical, electrical and electronic maintenance, including attending seminars and conferences for professional development Provide top customer service and training to clients/customers Field Service Engineer Qualifications: 2-year technical degree or technical / military training in mechanical engineering or electronics. Relevant experience will also be considered. Familiarity with CNC metal cutting, metal forming, and machine tool equipment (punch presses, fiber laser cutters, etc.) Minimum of four years of maintenance or related experience required (industrial machinery diagnosis and repair, manufacturing maintenance) Able to travel nationwide up to 90% of the time for projects, including some overnights, Monday-Friday Able to use dial indicators, micrometers, voltmeters, calipers and other kinds of measurement equipment Should be located in proximity to an airport (within an hour commute) Mechanical aptitude and proven experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment—electronics training is a plus This position includes manufacturing and warehousing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
