Overview Head, Compliance Risk Assessment, Analysis and Reporting, Americas – design, implement and deliver the Compliance Risk Assessment framework for the Americas region. This framework comprises a methodology to create risk assessments (including quantitative risk-based calculations), governance and processes to align with the Global Risk Assessment framework and regulatory expectations, analysis and summary reporting, and action planning/remediation with ongoing monitoring.

The Risk Assessment framework must be embedded within the Conduct, Financial Crime, and Compliance Risk (CFCR) function and assist management to oversee and improve the control environment. It must meet regulatory and industry expectations and drive action within the US compliance function, supplementing or superseding SC Compliance Risk Assessments where applicable. The role also involves continuous assessment of issues within the Compliance Principal Risk Type that may introduce risk. Key Responsibilities

Strategy

Design the US Compliance Risk Assessment. Support Group-led risk assessments across the Americas, where applicable. Develop the SC US methodology to create risk assessments, including quantitative risk-based calculations.

Business

Drive delivery of action planning and remediation resulting from regulatory requests. Maintain awareness of significant changes affecting the business and ensure appropriate risk mitigation actions. Ensure the US Risk Assessment framework addresses industry/regulatory expectations and provides analysis and reporting.

Processes

Be responsible for residual risk assessment of all entities in scope and related control weaknesses. Deliver the Compliance Risk Assessment and partner with colleagues to foster a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk identification.

People & Talent

Lead and develop the team through communication, performance management and development plans. Promote an environment that supports diversity and SCB values.

Day-to-Day Tasks

Understand the risk and control environment in area of responsibility. Review data to highlight key themes related to Compliance risks. Collaborate with data/MI teams to ensure data captured supports risk identification. Draft commentary on metrics for inclusion in forums and senior-level reporting.

Qualifications

Knowledge of risk assessment governance, frameworks and models in compliance. Knowledge of BSA/AML and Sanctions, ABC compliance across jurisdictions; ability to navigate regulatory variations.
