About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to play a pivotal role in a system-wide HR transformation. The successful candidate will be a strategic and transformational leader, as well as a hands-on partner, responsible for advising at the cabinet level and ensuring the effective delivery of core HR services. This includes payroll, benefits, talent management, and employee relations. The CHRO will be expected to balance vision with execution, using technology and innovation to strengthen operations, and to position HR as a trusted partner across the institution. The role also involves representing the university with external bodies and peer institutions. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in a relevant field, at least 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, and fluency with HR technology platforms and data-driven workforce reporting.
The role requires a visionary leader who can modernize and elevate the HR function, act as a change agent, and champion the unique mission and culture of the institution. The CHRO will be a critical campus-facing leader, with a focus on strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of HR programs. Minimum requirements include a Master’s degree in a related field, at least 10 years of HR leadership experience, and fluency with HR technology platforms. Preferred qualifications include professional certifications, experience with external oversight bodies, and a background in process improvement methodologies. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with academic leadership, understand shared governance, and have a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams.
