Full-Time Base pay range:
$120,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr As an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting technical proposals, system design, and cost estimates for water and wastewater treatment solutions. Youll collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and operations teams to deliver tailored proposals and ensure a seamless transition from concept to execution. This is a highly technical, client-facing role suited for an individual with a strong engineering foundation, creative problem-solving skills, and a passion for process innovation. Key Responsibilities Design and size treatment systems (UF, RO, MBR, MBBR, ion exchange, etc.) based on customer needs and specifications. Prepare detailed technical proposals, process flow diagrams, and cost estimates. Work with vendors to obtain pricing and specifications for components. Develop and maintain standard design tools, proposal templates, and technical documentation. Review RFQs, specifications, and drawings to ensure accurate scoping. Provide technical support to the sales team during pre-bid meetings and client discussions. Support the hand-off of awarded projects to engineering and execution teams. Stay current with emerging technologies and regulatory standards in the water treatment space.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering (or related field). 37 years of experience in application/proposal engineering or related technical role. Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment systems and processes. Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and AutoCAD layouts. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe PDF, and ERP/CRM systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Prior experience in the industrial, water treatment, or infrastructure sector is preferred. Bilingual (Spanish/Portuguese) is a plus but not required.
