A US-based hedge fund is looking for an AI Data Scientist, working closely with Quant Traders to design, implement, and evaluate AI/ML models for signal generation, risk modelling, and execution optimization.
Responsibilities
Work closely with quantitative researchers and traders to design, implement, and evaluate AI/ML models for signal generation, risk modelling, and execution optimization. Explore, clean, and analyze large and diverse datasets, including market, fundamental, alternative, and unstructured data. Research and apply advanced AI agent, LLM, machine learning techniques (e.g., deep learning, NLP, reinforcement learning) to extract predictive features from complex data sources. Develop scalable pipelines for data ingestion, processing, and feature engineering. Perform rigorous backtesting and statistical validation to ensure robustness of models. Contribute to ongoing efforts in automation and infrastructure improvements for model deployment and monitoring. Qualifications
Masters degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Math, or a related field; PhD is a plus. 25 years of professional experience as an AI Scientist, Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, or Quantitative Analyst. Strong proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow); experience with LLM, SQL and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) is preferred. Solid knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modelling; prior exposure to NLP, reinforcement learning, or graph models is a plus. Strong data wrangling skills and ability to work with unstructured and alternative datasets. Familiarity with financial markets, trading data, or quantitative strategies is strongly preferred.
