AIP is looking a Cook II to work in Miami, FL. The Cook I assists Cook II in performing a variety of tasks concerned with the preparation and serving of food and beverages. Responsibilities
Prepare in quantities, by various methods of cooking a variety of foods including soups, sauces, meats, fish, vegetables, baked goods, etc.
Prepare foods for special diets
Plan cooking schedules so food is ready at prescribed times
Insure delivery of food at the prescribed times
Provide the measuring, mixing, and stirring, cutting, grinding, chopping and seasoning of ingredients according to recipes
Test foods for completion of cooking time and adjust heat controls
Monitor the baking, roasting, broiling, frying and steaming of foods as called for in recipes
Monitor the carving and dividing of portions into individual servings
Assist in the equipment training of detainees
Monitor daily operations in food productions for conformance to establish quality, quantity, safety and sanitation requirements
Review menus to determine type and quantity of food to be prepared
Draw required cooking utensils from kitchen storage areas
Load and unload delivery trucks as necessary
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
US citizen or a person lawfully admitted into the United States for permanent residence and have resided in the U.S. for the last five years
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Pass a criminal background and consumer credit check (no criminal record)
Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance
Pass all pre-employment and random drug tests
Pass a medical examination and meet health requirements
At least 21 years of age
A high school diploma or equivalent required
Demonstrate an ability to work with a diverse population of people, including people of different cultures, with different values and lifestyles, with a cross-cultural perspective
Ability to greet and deal tactfully with the general public
Capability of following and interpreting/understanding written and verbal orders, policies and regulations, printed rules and regulations, detailed written orders, training instructions and materials
Proven ability to exercise good judgment, courage, alertness, an even temperament, and render satisfactory performance through his/her responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in large scale cooking
