This position serves as a Governance and Communications Coordinator who works across the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) enterprise and with staff from other state agencies to manage the DCYF governance process and a portfolio of large scale, complex initiatives. The primary role of the incumbent is to plan and manage the governance processes that are a priority of the DCYF Commissioner's Office including the DCYF governance teams, the DCYF project portfolio and process and the coordinated alignment of Human Services work across the Human Services Landscape. This position will also lead and coordinate communication initiatives that support DCYF and Human Services Landscape priorities. Responsibilities Include: Lead cross agency teams in the ongoing planning and management of the governance process for enterprise-wide, high-impact projects and product teams. Lead and coordinate communication initiatives that support DCYF and Human Services Landscape priorities. Ensure that Legislative requests are ready for governance action when they pass. Assist the DCYF Commissioner's Office, and other executive leadership with ad hoc project management and executive level communication needs as requested. Participate in division-wide activities including equity work, as well as document and create standard templates and processes for their key responsibilities to ensure high quality work. Minimum Qualifications Four (4) years of experience in large-scale project management across the organization or enterprise and overseeing effective workgroups and teams to align projects with business goals. Experience must demonstrate: Public speaking and presenting complex information and projects to stakeholders, management, and diverse audiences. Leading the development of detailed action plans and facilitating group discussions. Solving complex problems and strategic thinking skills. Strong human relations skills to inform, facilitate, negotiate and broker agreements between individuals and groups. Preferred Qualifications Experience in governance, organizational design, organizational change management, objective development, continuous improvement and evaluation to ensure quality standards are met. Knowledge of state government programs and their interrelationships and an understanding of human services policy and procedures, and of government functions and relations. Experience working with executive leadership. Knowledge of the legislative process and writing legislative reports. Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
