Overview
The HR Coordinator supports HR functions by guiding employees through various human resource processes and answering questions about policies. The role may assist with administering benefits, processing payroll, and ensuring smooth communication between employees and the HR team, often serving as the first point of contact for HR inquiries. The position also ensures HR activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- HR Policy & Procedures: Enforce and educate employees on company policies and procedures; respond to employee inquiries regarding policies.
- Recruitment: Post job openings, perform pre-employment checks, schedule interviews, and ensure new hire paperwork is completed; includes temporary personnel requests and reporting attendance to supervisors.
- Benefit Administration: Manage enrollment, additions, and deletions; respond to inquiries and provide guidance on benefits.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain current HR files and databases; update personnel documentation (employment, payroll, benefits, schedules, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, separations); archive terminated files per regulations using OneDrive.
- Administration: Support day-to-day administration including drafting letters, procuring office equipment, planning events, performing clerical tasks, and distributing paystubs.
- Performance Management: Track performance reviews monthly to ensure 90-day and Annual Reviews are completed on time.
- Payroll: Collect and review timesheets and schedules, including temporary personnel timesheets.
- Employee Relations: Promote employee welfare, maintain open communication with employees and management, and assist in organizing activities and events.
- Travel: Coordinate travel arrangements for executives (hotels, car rentals, flights) following company policy.
- Training: Train employees on company policies, new systems, and procedures, ensuring compliance.
- Company Culture: Develop a strong workplace culture that promotes safety, growth, and goal attainment; foster an environment for high performance.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree or in progress toward a bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
- 2 years’ experience in HR administration.
- Knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint – Intermediate Proficiency.
- English and Spanish language (speaking/listening).
- Skills: Reading comprehension, active listening, speaking, business writing, problem solving, coordination, service orientation, multitasking.
Preferred Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
- Two plus years’ experience in HR, recruitment, training, employee relations.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint – Advanced Proficiency.
- ADP Management/Payroll System – Intermediate.
- Skills: Reading comprehension, active listening, speaking, business writing, problem solving, coordination, service orientation, multitasking.
