About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Medical Director for Cardio-Renal. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of clinical development, leading the expansion of a portfolio focused on cardiovascular and renal diseases. This role requires a physician/scientist with a strong background in cardiovascular diseases, and experience in renal diseases is a bonus. The Executive Director will be responsible for developing and implementing clinical development strategies and trials, with a focus on heart failure, ASCVD, hypertension, pulmonary hypertension, and CKD. They will work closely with preclinical teams, conduct and support clinical trials, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and best practices. The role also involves engaging with regulatory bodies, external medical and scientific experts, and representing the company in various forums.
Candidates for this position must have a Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy degree, be board eligible or certified in an appropriate specialty/subspecialty, and have at least 5 years' of experience in clinical research and drug development. Additional qualifications in business acumen and experience in clinical practice, particularly in cardiovascular or renal medicine, are ideal. The Executive Director will be expected to have a proven track record of leadership, strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, and the ability to work within the company's governance structure.
