About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Medical Director for Cardio-Renal. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of clinical development, leading the expansion of a portfolio focused on cardiovascular and renal diseases. This role requires a physician/scientist with a strong background in cardiovascular diseases, and experience in renal diseases is a bonus. The Executive Director will be responsible for developing and implementing clinical development strategies and trials, with a focus on heart failure, ASCVD, hypertension, pulmonary hypertension, and CKD. They will work closely with preclinical teams, conduct and support clinical trials, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The role also involves engaging with external medical and scientific experts, representing the company in the medical community, and supporting the commercial decision-making process for compounds in various disease states.
Candidates for this position must have a Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy degree, be board eligible or certified in an appropriate specialty/subspecialty, and have at least 5 years' of experience in clinical research and drug development. Additional qualifications in business acumen and experience in clinical practice, particularly in cardiovascular or renal medicine, are highly valued. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership, strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work within the company's governance structure. The role demands a dedicated professional who is committed to the highest standards of medical research and is adept at managing a team of professionals in a fast-paced, global healthcare environment.
