The successful candidate will be a champion of AMI Montessori values and practices, with the ability to adapt and innovate to meet the needs of today's children. This role demands a leader who is courageous, fiscally responsible, and strategic, with a strong focus on stewardship and a commitment to the holistic development of the child. The Head of School will be responsible for ensuring the school's resources are invested wisely, and for fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and mutual respect. They must be a gifted communicator, capable of articulating the importance of Montessori education to both internal and external audiences, and must embody the spirit of Montessori in all aspects of their leadership.
The ideal candidate will have a depth of Montessori training and experience, and a background in successfully managing and leading staff. They should be adept at systems thinking, with the ability to establish and uphold high-performance school operations. The role also requires a leader who can reinforce a culture of compassion and support, and who is experienced in financial management, including the ability to partner with the Board and the advancement staff to ensure the school's long-term sustainability. Experience with neurodiverse learners and a broad range of ages is highly desirable. The Head of School will face the challenge of maintaining fidelity to AMI Montessori, increasing enrollment, and diversifying funding sources, while also working to strengthen the school's community and philanthropic culture.
