Director of Sales role to join our downtown SLC Team. This is a new position at Zions Bank supporting our Director of Commercial and Corporate Banking. This is an incredible opportunity to shape the future of our sales culture from end to end. We are looking for someone with extensive banking experience, sales acumen, performance management, and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales growth, expand market share, and lead a high-performance sales culture.
  • Help set the vision, strategy, and execution plan for business development across all target markets by developing and executing a comprehensive commercial banking sales and business development strategy across Commercial and Corporate Banking.
  • Establish sales goals, KPIs, and performance metrics.
  • Develop regular training programs to strengthen sales skills and product knowledge.
  • Lead monthly calls and annual conferences to align strategy, foster team culture and reinforce desired sales behaviors.
  • Work closely with leadership and Relationship Managers to manage and analyze the quality of pipeline data, providing regular reporting.
  • Oversee strategic prospecting initiatives, including LinkedIn social selling, referral strategies and competitive intelligence gathering.
  • Help drive identification and usage of AI-powered sales enablement tools to enhance prospecting, business development, client intelligence and banker productivity.
  • Drive adoption and mastery of sales enhancement tools such as Salesforce, RelPro, Seismic, IBIS, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other digital prospecting platforms.
  • Train bankers on how to effectively use these tools for lead generation, competitive research, call prep and customized outreach.
  • Collaborate with internal partners (TM, Capital Markets, Private Banking, Wealth, Marketing, and others).
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 10+ years of commercial banking or financial services experience with a track record in business development and sales leadership.
  • Proven ability to lead teams to exceed revenue targets in competitive markets.
  • Exhibits ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness in decision making and problem solving.
  • Expert knowledge of commercial lending and overall lending policies and procedures.
  • Experience in sales coaching with demonstrated success as a sales leader and coach.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient in CRM, AI, and sales analytical tools.
  • Expert knowledge of client relationship management.
  • Ability to set and meet long-term goals and maintain high-quality work standards.
