Position Overview:

MP Materials is seeking a dynamic and experienced VP Commercial to take a leadership role in the building, launch, and day-to-day operations of a new business unit that will manufacture the rare earth alloys and magnets required to secure the future of US electrification. Reporting directly to the EVP Magnetics and working closely with corporate leadership, the VP Commercial will drive the setting and execution of the Magnetics Business Unit's commercial strategy. They will be responsible for driving business growth, developing new markets and customers, and ensuring the successful launch and commercialization of our magnet products. The ideal candidate will have experience in business development, sales, contract negotiation, and customer and product management, including in the automotive business segment. Familiarity with managing the commercial launch and growth of new products and new facilities is also desirable. This will be an on-site position located in Fort Worth, TX.

Position Responsibilities: Work closely with the MP Magnetics and corporate leadership teams to develop and implement the business unit's commercial strategy. Own account management of key customers, from initial contact to contract negotiations, to product roll-out, to ongoing supply. Build and lead a lean and high-performing commercial team across multiple verticals, including aerospace/defense, consumer goods, energy, and automotive. Manage automotive customers through start of production, including PPAP, APQP, SOR negotiation, and other quality and commercial requirements. Build and maintain relationships with key customers and potential customers, commercial partners, and market segment thought leaders to build the voice of the customer. Ensure that customer needs are internally communicated, understood, and strategically executed upon throughout the organization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and innovation, and ensure it is aligned with the voice of the customer. Identify and foster new business opportunities across multiple potential application areas, making sure to correctly identify high-value projects well-suited to MP Magnetics. Work with MP corporate and MP Mine Operations to ensure MP Magnetics commercial strategy delivers maximum overall value for MP Materials. Collaborate with the corporate accounting and operations teams to ensure SAP provides real time reporting of key commercial data and easy production of contractually required reporting. Be an active leader in building a respectful, collaborative, mission-driven, unwavering culture. Basic Qualifications:

BA/BS degree or higher. 5+ years of experience in a senior commercial leadership role. 10+ years of experience in materials, chemicals, or other high-tech, build-to-print manufacturing fields. Proven ability to manage complex customers, nurturing customer champions and building consensus across multiple levels of management. Deep knowledge of the requirements to holistically serve and manage automotive customers across commercial, quality, and engineering needs. Experience across multiple commercial areas, including business development, sales, and customer and product management. Experience with large, complex contract negotiations, and a deep knowledge of how specific contractual terms translate into operational and commercial reality. Understanding of the commercial requirements for the systems and tools required in a manufacturing environment, including ERP, quality management systems, LIMS, etc. Skilled in creating and delivering clear, concise executive-level briefings, presentations, and communications for internal and external communications. Analytical, strategic, and structured thinker with entrepreneurial drive. Proactive, resourceful, self-motivated, and possessing exemplary interpersonal skills to "meet people where they are" across all levels of diverse organizations. Ability to drive action and results within a matrixed organization across multiple sites. A tireless work ethic, willing to do whatever it takes whenever it is needed to ensure success. Desired Qualities:

Knowledge of magnet applications and markets. Experience with serving automotive customers as a Tier 1 supplier, including compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards. Proven capability to build commercial organizations, including defining, implementing, and running the supporting business systems and processes. Knowledge of project management methodologies, and expertise in implementing and executing a portfolio of complex projects in parallel. Experience with commercially managing the rollout of new products and new facilities with highly sophisticated and demanding customers. Experience integrating next-generation products into commercial roadmaps, including assessing risks and opportunities.
