Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Conroe, Tx 77301
Pay Rate:
$18 - $20/ hr. DOE [6PM - 6AM] offer a $2/hour differential for all hours worked during this schedule; [12PM - 12AM] night differential applies from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM
Job Summary:
Ensure that machinery, equipment, and systems within a facility are properly maintained, repaired, and functioning efficiently. This role involves performing both preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to minimize downtime, enhance productivity, and reduce operational disruptions. Maintenance Mechanics are responsible for troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing repairs, and ensuring equipment is operating safely and reliably.
Responsablilities: •Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery. • Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs. • Examine parts for defects, such as breakage and excessive wear. • Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions. • Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify repairs are done accurately. • Reassembling equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs. • Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment. • Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment. • Study blueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery. • Record parts and materials used, and order new parts and materials as necessary. • Record repairs and maintenance performed. • Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with state and federal law, Company Quality Program and procedures, company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations. • May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Compliance: • Ensure adherence to all relevant procedures, work instructions, and policies outlined in the Quality Management System (QMS) documentation. • Participate in QMS audits and inspections as required. • Report any NCRs or deviations from QMS standards to the appropriate authority. • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing processes, products, and services. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of activities, transactions, and relevant documentation. • Actively participate in training programs and workshops aimed at enhancing job-related skills and knowledge. Levels of Authority: • This position has the authority to stop production when standards are not met. • This position has the authority to STOP WORK when an imminent hazard is observed. • This position has the authority to stop production when machinery is not in operational condition and poses a safety risk to personnel or threatens the integrity of the equipment.
Qualification:
• Bachelor Degree in related Field • Minimum of 3 years of Mechanic/Electric experience in an industrial, manufacturing or construction setting. • Experience working with wire draw and wire mesh machines is a plus • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred. • Basic use of Microsoft Office
Skills : • Must be able to use hand tools. • Must be able to assemble and disassemble equipment, such as engines, pumps, transmissions,etc. • Must have basic knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics. • Must be able to operate forklift and overhead crane. • Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events. • Ability to solve mechanical issues or problems
