Position Summary: We're seeking an experienced and driven Controller to lead accounting and financial operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and process improvement across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring both strategic insight and hands-on execution skills, with deep familiarity in affordable housing finance and systems like Yardi.

Key Responsibilities: Manage all general accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and payroll Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings with accuracy and timeliness Prepare financial statements, variance analyses, and KPI reports for executive review Ensure adherence to GAAP and affordable housing regulations (including LIHTC compliance and tax filings) Serve as the primary liaison for external audits and coordinate with lenders and auditors Use Yardi to manage both property-level and consolidated financial data Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning Identify and implement accounting systems and workflow improvements Supervise and mentor accounting staff (team structure to be finalized based on hire) Oversee treasury functions, including cash flow management and banking relationships Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred) 8-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in real estate or affordable housing Expert in Yardi and advanced Excel skills required Demonstrated success managing audits and working with external stakeholders Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and compliance standards Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and strategic thinker with a hands-on approach Excellent communication and team leadership skills Preferred Experience:

Familiarity with LIHTC and other affordable housing finance regulations Experience scaling accounting processes in a growing organization Oversight of multi-entity or multi-location operations Bilingual in Spanish or other languages (a plus, not required) Why Join This Organization:
