EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING Required: Minimum qualification: High school graduation, Associates Degree or equivalent is required and college experience. Preferred qualification: Bachelor's Degree, Education, Psychology, Human Services, Social Worker, Counseling, Family Studies, Sociology, Business, Criminal Justice Experience working with high school and college-age students Knowledge of college services, including financial aid and degree completion activities, is a must. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to exercise independent judgment and also show strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. The successful candidate must be proficient in the use of technology for work-related activities and be ready to travel. Experience preferred in Community Service and Outreach. Experience with at-risk and culturally diverse populations is preferred. Ability to frequently travel among school district facilities and into the community. Preferred:

Classroom Teaching Experience. Tutoring, Mentoring, Counseling, Guidance Experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective:

The GEAR UP Data Specialist provides support and training for GEAR UP staff with an emphasis on collecting and maintaining data for attendance at student engagement events and workshops; advising; college campus visits; industry tours; field trips, and implementing sustainable career and college readiness practices. Additionally, the GEAR UP Data Specialist is responsible for collecting information required for district, state and federal end of year reporting. This includes the preparation of charts, infographics, newsletters, and collaborating with the Family Engagement Specialist to develop presentations and information to share with community, school district and business partners in alignment with the GEAR UP objectives:

Increase academic performance and preparation for postsecondary education. Increase high school graduation and postsecondary participation rates. Increase students' and their families' knowledge of postsecondary options, preparation, and finances.

Essential Functions:

Provide support for grant expectations, goals, objectives and activities in accordance with state and federal law. Maintain timely and accurate records of attendance, program participation, grades, enrollment information, notes, files and any other program related data and assist with the decision making process analyzing/evaluating the data. Assist with the collaboration of Greeley-Evans School District 6 office managers, counselors, teachers, parents, and administrators throughout the year. Participate in staff meetings, team building and development sessions, professional development opportunities, school faculty meetings, and district/department meetings. Develop and maintain relationships and networks with college partners, counselors, tutors, and business partners, TRIO, GEAR UP professionals, and career pathway programs. Position may require advanced knowledge of office software programs skill, attention to detail, and good organizational skills. Compiles, composes, and edits, and produces reports, charts, Develops program promotional materials, media ads, brochures, flyers, and public service announcements within established College guidelines, prepares displays, brochures, flyers, and other materials using desktop publishing software; prepares handouts and presents materials on the department or program; makes presentations to students, civic and community groups; represents the supervisor, as required.

Experience in classroom management and/or instruction. Greeley GEAR UP Data Specialist will complete training First-Aid/CPR to chaperone students on field trips. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Initiative and follow-through. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job. Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations Ability to conduct home visits when required. Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, District Policies, and building and department procedures. Ability to communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with all people, including diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds. Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator. Equipment and Materials Used:

Technology - computer and related equipment. Telephone Infinite Campus and Infinite Visions (information systems for student, personnel and budget). Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals. Working knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office, google docs, Infinite Campus, and other K-12 systems.

Work Environment/ Physical Demands:

Physical and mental abilities sufficient to perform the essential functions and duties of the position as outlined. Ability to work under stress and strict constraints. Minimal physical activity required.

Fluorescent lighting. Use of visual display terminal.
