Job Description

The Locksmith is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and adjustment of all types of locks and related door hardware in campus buildings and facilities. This role supports a secure learning environment by ensuring that all physical security systems function properly. The Locksmith also maintains key records, ensures compliance with district/university policies, and collaborates with faculty and staff to meet security needs.

Pay: $19.35/hour

The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on the applicant's experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

- You become eligible to make personal contributions beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employment. You become eligible for the ABM match beginning the first of the month following six months of employment. ABM matches your pre-tax and/or Roth contributions, dollar for dollar, for the first 3%. For the next 2%, ABM contributes $0.50 for each dollar you contribute. Your contributions and match are immediately vested.

Key Responsibilities: Install, repair, and maintain locks, door hardware, panic bars, and electronic access systems. Rekey locks and cut keys as required. Maintain key records, inventory, and master key systems to ensure accountability and security. Inspect and troubleshoot locking systems and make recommendations for improvements or upgrades. Collaborate with security and administrative personnel on facility access needs. Ensure compliance with ADA requirements and fire/safety codes. Respond to emergency repair requests and lockouts promptly. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe condition. Provide support for facility access during events or emergencies. Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; technical training with certification in locksmithing. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a locksmith, preferably in an educational or institutional setting. Knowledge of master key systems, electronic access control, and applicable safety codes. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Strong communication and organizational skills. Must be able to lift and carry equipment and work on ladders or in confined spaces. Valid driver's license required. Preferred Qualifications:

Certification from an accredited locksmith association (e.g., ALOA). Familiarity with school campus security protocols. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.
