Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of the Business Office Coordinator is to support the efficient operation of the ESC by coordinating administrative and financial processes.

Education/Certification
? Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.
? TASBO certification preferred.
Special Knowledge/Skills
? Team oriented attitude and desire to work collaboratively with ESC staff campus/district/charter school personnel.
? Effective skills in leadership, administration, organization, planning, communication, and public relations.
? Advanced technical knowledge of budgeting and governmental accounting
? Shows initiative, and problem-solving skills
? Working knowledge of financial applications
? Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
? Ability to interpret policy, procedures, data
? Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends.
? Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tool
? Knowledge of state and federal grant award requirements, compliance, and reporting
Experience
? Five years prior accounting and leadership experience
? Prior experience with school district budget coding is preferred.
? Knowledge of the Financial Accountability System Resource Guide (FASRG)

**This position may be partially or completely funded using grant and/or federal monies and is assigned programs to include activities designed to enhance the effective and coordinated use of funds.
Leadership & Supervision
? Actively participate in and/or provide leadership for inter-departmental teams to help improve student performance in the region, strengthen ESC internal operations, and achieve ESC goals and objectives.
? Supervise and provide leadership to Business Office and Registration staff.
? Develop and provide training on business office procedures to ESC staff as needed.
? Work closely with the Business Office Director to improve efficiency of processes.
Financial Oversight & Analysis
? Serve as back-up for accountants, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and registrars.
? Monitor and maintain accuracy of the general ledger.
? Review and approve budget amendments; assist with annual budget preparation and budget analysis.
? Calculate and book administrative and indirect costs.
? Manage month-end close and assist with year-end close.
? Assist Business Services in times of need with bank reconciliations, AP runs, and reporting.
? Complete monthly grant certifications and support the accuracy of grant ledger records.
Compliance & Reporting
? Responsible for the ESC contract process and serve as point of contact for contracts.
? Assist with ERP system security and provide support for technical questions.
? Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for the Business Office.
? Assist in monitoring local, state, federal, and internal expenditures for reporting purposes and grant drawdowns.
? Assist in reviewing and compiling financial PEIMS reports for submission.
? Maintain a continuous auditing program for all funds and assist the independent auditor during annual or periodic audits.
Customer Service & Support
? Provide customer service to internal staff regarding business needs.
? Assist in special projects as assigned.
? Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Duties
Manages the internal Business Office team of senior accountant, grant administrator, grant accountant, AP, AR, travel specialist, and registration staff.
Equipment/Specialized Software Used
Computers, projection devices, control panels in meeting rooms, printers, productivity software, software specific to the job assignment, network resources, internet resources, and other hardware and software necessary to perform the functions of the job effectively and efficiently.
Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors)
Mental:
Public relations and people skills are always required, work with frequent interruptions, and maintain professional composure and confidentiality under stress.
Physical:
Occasional prolonged and irregular hours, ability to move tables and chairs and load/unload boxes and materials. Prolonged use of a computer.
Environmental:
Open cubicles/workstations
Evaluation
Annual performance evaluation will be performed in accordance with the adopted policies of the Education Service Center Region 11. Employment in this position is contingent upon performance, need, and funding.
