A global industry leader in the manufacturing space is seeking a Business Unit Controller to join their team! Based in Chicago, this high-visibility role partners directly with division leadership and corporate finance, playing a key role in financial reporting, planning, and operational decision-making. The Controller will lead a multi-site team and continue driving process improvements, making this a dynamic opportunity for a hands-on leader.
Compensation Range:
$125,000 - $140,000 base + 10% bonus
Work arrangements:
Hybrid, 3 days/week on-site; 25% travel

Lead day-to-day finance and accounting functions, including AR/AP, month-end close, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting Serve as a key business partner to leadership, providing analysis, insights, and recommendations to drive strategy and objectives Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow) in compliance with US GAAP and internal controls Manage and mentor a team of 4-5 across multiple locations, fostering development and succession planning Drive process improvements, policy development, and system enhancements to modernize financial operations Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, operations, product support) to support profitability, inventory management, and capital investment decisions Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments 3+ years of management experience, ideally with multi-site or remote teams Strong business partnership skills and ability to work effectively with operational leaders Hands-on leadership style with a track record of mentoring and developing staff Initiative-driven, with experience leading process and system improvements
