Position Coordinator of Annual Giving and Donor Engagement

Position Summary
The Coordinator of Annual Giving and Donor Engagement reports to the Vice President of Advancement and plays a critical role in designing, executing, and optimizing annual giving campaigns and donor engagement strategies to support the fundraising goals of the NMHU Foundation. This position works collaboratively across departments to enhance donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship, particularly through personalized communications and digital outreach.
Duties and Responsibilities
Annual Giving Strategy & Donor Engagement • Design and manage integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns (email, direct mail, video, texting, social media, websites, crowdfunding) that increase participation and enhance donor experience. • Develop and execute Giving Day, student philanthropy (e.g. SPUR), giving society (e.g. 1893 Society, President's Circle, Parents & Families Leadership Council), and digital stewardship initiatives. • Serve as a liaison to student philanthropy groups, managing event planning, donor thank-you efforts, and campus engagement. • Coordinate with Foundation and university partners to ensure message consistency and brand alignment across appeals and stewardship. • Support writing, editing, and collection of donor thank-you messages, especially from student recipients, to strengthen donor impact stories. Digital Campaign & Crowdfunding Management • Manage full campaign lifecycle-from stakeholder collaboration and content development to post-campaign analytics. • Serve as the point person for campus units launching crowdfunding or peer-to-peer campaigns; advise on best practices and campaign structure. • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications for compelling visual and written content, including campaign pages, graphics, and social media toolkits. Event & Alumni Engagement Support • Assist in the planning and execution of Foundation-led events including Homecoming, stewardship receptions, and alumni programming. • Work alongside the Director of Alumni Relations to integrate giving opportunities into alumni engagement initiatives. Strategy & Analysis • Analyze donor trends and campaign performance to inform segmentation, targeting, and continuous improvement. • Present campaign updates, insights, and recommendations to the Vice President of Advancement.
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or a related field required
Preferred Qualifications
Master's preferred. 3-5 years in annual giving, donor engagement, or nonprofit marketing, preferably in higher education.
Special Conditions for Eligibility
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Proficiency in CRM/fundraising systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce). • Strong communication, writing, and editing skills with attention to detail. • Ability to manage complex projects independently and collaboratively. • Data-driven mindset with experience in segmentation and performance analysis. • Familiarity with digital marketing tools; graphic design experience a plus. • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
