Role Description
The Senior Systems Administrator - Infrastructure & Security provides advanced technical leadership for our global Microsoft 365 infrastructure while supporting enterprise security initiatives. This role is critical to our strategic IT transformation, working closely with our incoming Director of Global Information Security and Privacy to implement world-class infrastructure and security controls across our worldwide operations. This individual will help coordinate security integration across our development and production environments while maintaining the reliability of systems that protect $20M+ customer relationships.
Role Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Microsoft 365 infrastructure across global locations including Chicago, Minneapolis, Reston, Belfast, Bulgaria, and Lithuania Optimize and secure Azure Active Directory, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams environments for worldwide operations Manage cloud-based infrastructure with focus on security, performance, and cost optimization Implement and maintain mobile device management (Intune) and endpoint security solutions Security Implementation
Work with Director of Global Information Security to implement enterprise security policies and standards Integrate security controls throughout cloud infrastructure and development processes Support compliance efforts for ISO, SOC, GDPR and other applicable certifications and regulations Implement and maintain security monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response procedures Cross-functional Collaboration
Collaborate with Platform Reliability Engineer on customer-facing system monitoring and reliability Support Engineering teams with secure development infrastructure and DevSecOps coordination Partner with regional IT specialists to ensure consistent security implementation across all locations Provide technical expertise for security questionnaires and customer compliance requirements Technical Leadership
Mentor junior IT team members on security best practices and infrastructure management Lead complex infrastructure projects and technology implementations Evaluate and implement new technologies that enhance security and operational efficiency Provide technical guidance for strategic technology decisions Qualifications/Background
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field 5+ years of experience in systems administration with strong focus on Microsoft 365 and cloud infrastructure Proven experience managing enterprise-scale Azure/M365 environments across multiple geographic locations Strong background in information security principles and implementation Network administration experience with enterprise networking concepts, VPNs, and connectivity solutions Experience with mobile device management, endpoint security, and compliance frameworks Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Finds meaning in enabling organizational success through reliable, secure technology solutions Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant Microsoft certifications (Azure Solutions Architect, M365 Enterprise Administrator, Security certifications) Knowledge of compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC2, GDPR) Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools Experience with Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence) for documentation and project management Background supporting global, distributed organizations Experience in IoT, manufacturing, or technology industry environments preferred
Salary Range: $100k-$135k. plus benefits
