Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) student technical assistant for the Forestry Administration at Oregon State University (OSU).
The College of Forestry's marketing and communications team is looking for a creative, detail-oriented and motivated student to help create creative and engaging digital marketing content in support of the college's communications and outreach goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of social media trends, an eye for developing compelling visuals (static and video) and the ability to work collaboratively with peers and staff. You do not need to be a forestry student or have in-depth science knowledge to succeed in this role.
In this position, you will help shape the College of Forestry's digital and social media presence through original content creation and collaboration. You'll gain hands-on experience in higher education marketing by producing engaging posts, designing graphics and supporting digital storytelling.
You will work primarily in the College of Forestry marketing and communications suite in the Peavy Forest Science Center and collaborate closely with other student workers on content planning and production. This role will also provide opportunities to work on live projects, such as event coverage and field site visits, including the college's research forests.

Position Duties Plan, write and design social media content (photos, videos, captions, graphics) for College of Forestry platforms (Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn) Collaborate with other student workers on content planning and storytelling ideas Lead the design and production of digital slide graphics for internal display monitors and other digital content Stay informed on social media trends and suggest creative ideas for engagement Attend College of Forestry events to gather visual assets and real-time content Assist with content scheduling and basic analytics tracking Additional activities as assigned Minimum Qualifications

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term* Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the
Office of International Services
(OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong smartphone photography/videography skills Experience with Adobe InDesign Strong understanding of graphic design principles and brand systems Familiarity with Canva Strong understanding of major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok) Ability to take direction and complete assignments on deadline Confidence to approach students, faculty and staff for content opportunities Team player with a collaborative mindset Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Interest in public relations, writing, communications, graphic design, marketing or related fields Has a driver's license Experience with DSLR cameras Working Conditions / Work Schedule
