Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) student clerical position for the Forestry Administration at Oregon State University (OSU).
The College of Forestry is looking for a motivated student to help support our student food pantry, Rootstock, through inventory management and day-to-day administrative support. This role is perfect for someone who excels at maintaining organization in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly. Strong attention to detail, commitment to food safety, and the ability to adapt while keeping things neat and orderly are key to success in this role.
Key duties include purchasing, rotating, and restocking pantry items; organizing and maintaining signage, supplies, and print materials; and helping keep the pantry welcoming and running smoothly. We are seeking a student available to work 8-10 hours a week.

Position Duties
40% Inventory Management Maintain and track inventory for the college's student food pantry. Shop for items and restock the pantry weekly, including transporting goods from local stores to the pantry following safe food handling practices. Rotate back-stock inventory to prevent spoilage, track expiration dates, and implement strategies to reduce food waste. 30% Administrative Support
Professionally represent the College of Forestry in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders. Maintain a tidy and welcoming environment for all who enter the pantry (organizing storage and displays, handling signage, breaking down boxes, and other tasks as needed). Support Rootstock through administrative tasks including data entry, expense tracking, reporting, distribution and management of print materials, and budget reconciliation. 20% Event & Program Support
Provide event and logistical support for Firs for Food Security and other Rootstock-related events, including placing orders for catering and helping with setup and teardown. Assist with Rootstock development, including new program offerings such as recipe handouts, nutrition education, or collaborations with local farms, depending on student interest and capacity. Support printing and mailing projects, including coordinating production of pantry programs and signage. 10% Other Duties as Assigned
Support other pantry and Marcomms office duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term* Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the
Office of International Services
(OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications
Driver's License required.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work occasional nights and weekends.
