Director of Land Development - Residential Homebuilding

I’m currently partnered with a leading

residential homebuilder

that is searching for a strong

Director of Land Development

to join their team. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll oversee the entire land development process - from raw land to construction-ready lots.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on taking projects from vision to reality and enjoys the balance of

strategic planning, financial management, and boots-on-the-ground execution.

What You’ll Be Doing Lead all land development activities including

due diligence, entitlements, permitting, zoning, and construction oversight.

Develop and manage

budgets, schedules, and financial forecasts

to keep projects on track.

Negotiate contracts and agreements with municipalities, landowners, and utility providers.

Manage relationships with engineers, consultants, contractors, and city officials.

Deliver lots

on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Mentor and lead a team while reporting directly to senior leadership.

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in

Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business , or related field.

8+ years

of progressive experience in land development, preferably residential.

Strong skills in

financial analysis, negotiations, and project leadership.

A proven track record of bringing projects from raw land to finished communities.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
