We are an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services. We are currently seeking a

Safety Supervisor

to join our team for

a major tunneling and heavy civil infrastructure project in East Harlem, New York City, USA.

Location:

East Harlem, New York City, United States (on-site)

Schedule:

Monday to Friday - 9-hour shifts (1-hour lunch). Occasional night, weekend, or overtime work may be required depending on project needs.

Duration:

Initially 24+ years, with the possibility of extension depending on project progress. Upon completion, we will seek to provide continuity in other projects.

Role Overview

Protecnium is seeking an on-site

Safety Supervisor / EHS Coordinator

to lead day-to-day HSE compliance and culture on a large urban heavy-civil program in New York City. You will drive adherence to OSHA and local regulations, embed proactive risk management, and champion continuous improvement across tunnelling and station construction activities.

Key Responsibilities Implement and enforce OSHA, local, and corporate safety regulations and procedures across site operations. Conduct routine site inspections, safety walks, toolbox talks, and formal HSE audits; document findings and follow-up actions. Coordinate incident and near-miss reporting, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and lessons-learned dissemination. Plan, deliver, and track safety training and inductions for site staff and subcontractors. Support construction teams with risk assessments (JHAs), method statement reviews, and mitigation plans for high-risk works. Monitor compliance during extended or night/weekend operations as required by the site schedule. Requirements

Certification:

OSHA 30 (Construction) required; HAZWOPER 40 is an advantage depending on scope. Experience:

5+ years in HSE roles within heavy civil works (e.g., tunnels, bridges, rail, highways). Technical skills:

Incident investigation, auditing, risk assessment, training delivery, and contractor coordination. Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement across field teams and management. English

B2 minimum . Additional languages are a plus. Valid authorization to work in the United States (or eligibility for company-sponsored visa). Candidates with prior U.S./NYC experience will be prioritized. Benefits
