Safety Manager
for a large urban transportation infrastructure project in
East Harlem, New York City, USA.
Position Details
Estimated Duration : 24 months, generally, if the project ends, efforts are made to reassign the employee to other projects for continuity. Location: East Harlem, New York City, USA (100% on-site). Project : Extension of urban subway infrastructure, including approximately 2.4 km of new tunnels and three new stations, serving as a key transfer hub. Schedule : Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, 9 hours per day (including 1 hour lunch). Position Description

Safety Manager
to lead the project's safety program, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and fostering a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will develop safety plans, conduct audits, and supervise safety teams for a project valued at around US $1.97 billion that enhances transit equity and connectivity for over 100,000 daily riders.
Responsibilities
Lead the project's safety program, ensuring compliance with OSHA, MTA, DOT, and local NYC regulations. Develop and implement Health & Safety Plans, risk assessments, and emergency response procedures. Supervise and mentor the team of Safety Supervisors / EHS Coordinators. Conduct audits, inspections, and incident investigations, reporting to Project Management and JV leadership. Liaise with client representatives and regulatory agencies regarding safety performance. Requirements
Qualification : Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or equivalent. Experience : 10+ years of safety management experience in large-scale heavy civil projects. Recommended previous experience in USA, especially in NY. Language : English (B2 minimum level). Certifications : OSHA 30/40 mandatory; CSP/CHST or equivalent certifications preferred. Skills : Strong leadership and communication skills. Benefits
