Primary Function
The Client Manager - Correspondent serves as the single point of contact for Correspondent clients requiring assistance with any aspect of the correspondent closed loan origination process. This position will work in a team environment, aligned with specified clients, Sales Director(s)and Diligence Underwriter, providing an optimal customer experience by managing the relationship throughout the life cycle of the loan (including underwriting, lock, closing, shipping, audit, purchase, and servicing). The position requires best-in-class communication, problem solving skills, detailed knowledge of all loan programs, compliance rules, investor requirements and general mortgage origination standards. The Client Manager - Correspondent must make decisions on loan acceptability and effectively interact with internal counterparts to achieve timely resolutions.
Principal Duties:
List of required duties below. Distinguish on-site duties with an * Provide reports and recommendations to management on discovered risks associated with certain correspondent clients. Reduce client overall suspense rates and accelerate purchase times by reviewing suspense reports on a daily basis, clearing conditions based upon additional documentation provided by the client. Critical Decision-making to ensure eligibility and salability of the loan for escalations or exceptions that fall outside the standard audit. Provide or facilitate regular client training to address trends or redundant problem areas with clients. Facilitate internal recommendations and improvements for more efficient process, accurate conditions, and timely purchase to strengthen client experience. Attend internal client operational review meetings, as needed, to discuss performance of identified clients. Maintain adequate service levels as determined by management, to internal and external customers and sales force. Achieve specific volume and revenue goals of the Channel. Successfully perform related duties as assigned by supervisor. *These essential functions are fundamental to the role, and must be performed on-site, as they cannot physically be performed remotely. In addition, the Company has determined that an in-person presence is important to critical components of our work, including oversight, training, collaboration, and productivity. Items not marked (*) as essential on-site may still require partial on-site work to perform the role satisfactorily.
Education and Experience

High School Diploma Preferably 10 years' experience in the following areas: Customer Service, Sales, Operations: Underwriting, Compliance, Processing, Closing. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Knowledge of industry program policies, procedures, regulations, and laws Thorough knowledge of both Federal and State mortgage compliance regulations as it pertains to Correspondent Lending. Strong understanding of the operational responsibilities involved in the purchase and transfer of whole loan assets. Knowledge of product overlays and guidelines. Knowledge of mortgage banking including pricing, funding, operations, underwriting, products, compliance (TRID) and processing is required. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Access. Candidate must possess and demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills. Candidate must allocate one's own time efficiently and must handle multiple demands, competing priorities in fast paced environment. Must create an atmosphere in which timely and high-quality information is shared with team members. Effective verbal and written communications, including active listening, and presenting findings and recommendations. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, staff, and external contacts, and to work effectively in a professional team environment. Exhibits confidence and empathy when dealing with current and potential customers. Acts professionally regardless of the situation. Understands and appreciates the importance of the bigger picture. Majority of time will be spent on the telephone and computer.
