Building Cleaning Worker I
Position # MR014-BCW-1 (Multiple Positions)
The hourly wage range for this position is $14.40/hour - $18.46/hour
The State of New Hampshire, Department of Administrative Services, Division of Plant & Property has multiple part-time vacancies for Building Cleaning Worker I.
Summary: T o perform independent cleaning, custodial or janitorial duties associated with the care, cleaning, and maintenance of one or multiple state facilities, buildings, or institutions; may include assignment to multiple units, areas, locations, or districts.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS:
Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

The work of an employee in trainee status in this position shall be overseen by a fully qualified individual. An employee in trainee status shall meet the minimum qualifications within the period of time specified on the SJD, not to exceed one year of being hired into this position.
Responsibilities:
Performs light to medium physical custodial activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and whole body movement, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, or handling equipment and materials to perform cleaning duties, such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors, washing walls and glass, and disinfecting.
Performs routine building and facilities maintenance duties such as changing lightbulbs, adjusting or replacing fixtures, and resetting machinery or environmental systems.
Removes snow, debris, or garbage from grounds/walkways; salts and sands when needed. Mows, cuts hedges and trims grass.
Moves beds, furniture, equipment, partitions, materials, or supplies, either manually or with hand trucks.
Performs condition checks of cleaning tools/equipment and replaces or repairs as needed; observes operation of building or facility's mechanical, safety, or environmental systems and notifies supervisor or team lead of any issues or concerns.
Applies appropriate solvents, chemicals, and disinfectants; removes contaminated and non-contaminated waste from buildings/facilities; disposes of waste in a prescribed manner; adheres to health and safety requirements relevant to the work area or facility.
Stocks supplies and advises the team lead or supervisor when inventory is low or if supplies are needed.
